Thank you to everyone to came out and supported New Wave in our first event of the year. We unfortunately had to start the event off with some bad news as our friend Locura was taken to the hospital with a concussion on Friday night. He was forced to pull out of his Blindfold Match with Bobby Thrash. Bobby Thrash would have something to say about it later in the evening.
Jaysin Strife def. Ric Ellis
Ric Ellis definitely had something to prove in his New Wave return. Pulling out no stops at the beginning of the match with an impressive tope con hilo. Strife had the support of the New Wave fans and was able to fight back and get a near fall using a brainbuster. Ellis thought to be in control was soon taken down after Strife ussed an electric chair into a sit out driver.
Bobby Thrash came out addressing Locura's concussion and was so sure that he was not having a blindfold match tonight. After issuing an open challenge to anyone in the New Wave locker room, The Amazing Web made his return. Not only accepting the challenge of Thrash but also making it a blindfold match in the Main Event.
Johnny Paradise def. Sindarin
Sindarin clearly the faster one, had Johnny Paradise on his toes with numerous arm drags and his lucha style of wrestling. Paradise's power won over as he reversed Sindarin's slice bread no. 2 into a tombstone piledriver
Aerial Star def. "The King of Strikes" Brandon Parker
Aerial Star surprised Parker right off the bat with a leg lariat and some vicious kicks to the "King Of Strikes." Parker avoided a plancha from Star and unleashed some brutal chops and kicks of his own. Both men unleashed their "six guns" of kicks on each other. Star stood up after receiving a german suplex and nailed a superkck that knocked out Parker.
New Wave Pro Wrestling Heavyweight Championship
(champion) "Rotten" Ronnie Thrash def. (challenger) Extreme Loco
Ronnie Thrash got stuck with one foot on the top rope stretching when the ref rang the bell. Trying to hit Loco, Thrash missed and landed face first. After that minor blunder from Thrash he soon hit his stride as these two big men left it all in the ring. Thrash reversed Loco's "X5" powerslam into rock bottom, into his "Swingin' The Dead" to retain his championship.
Foob Dog def. Chris Lyonz
In a match where it was Teacher vs. Student, the teacher seemed to have all the answers. Foob Dog beat Lyonz from pillar to post severely injuring Lyonz' arm. Lyonz had no choice but to tap out to Foob's key lock submission.
Best Of 5 Series - Match 4
Chris Kadillak def. "The Rock & Roll Rebel Soul" Johnny Yuma
Prior to the match Kadillak promised to break Yuma's jaw for all of the trash he was talking. Yuma seemed more focused in this match then before. Lots of fast paced back and forth action. Kadillak tied the series with his jaw breaker he calls the C.T.S. on Yuma. Afterwards Yuma kicked Kadillak below the belt and attempted to beat him down after the bell. Yuma bailed as Kadillak started a comeback. Yuma accepted Kaddilak's challenge to make their 5th and final match at Tidal Wave 4 a Falls Count Anywhere Street Fight.
Famous B def. SoCal Crazy
While SoCal was making his entrance Aerial Star attacked him from behind with a steel chair in the rib cage. Famous B ever the opportunist took advantage of SoCal's pre match attack. SoCal's injuries were too much that he couldn't amount much offense. SoCal Crazy went down to Famous B's spinning side slam.
SoCal Crazy was not happy with his loss. He called out Aerial Star challenged him for Tidal Wave 4. Star accepted on his terms, being a tag team match. The caveat is that each person will pick their opponents partner. On February 5th, at Perkins Elementary we will learn who Aerial Star picked as SoCal's partner.
Blindfold Match
The Amazing Web def. "Bruisin" Bobby Thrash
Bobby Thrash refused to put on the blindfold until Web did. Once Web put the blindfold on, Thrash unleashed an attack while he waited to put his own blindfold on until he had Web down. They felt around the ring for each other for minutes. Bobby Thrash took down the referee in frustration and took off his blindfold to regain his advantage. Web realized what was going on, took his blindfold off too and evened the score. Not wanting to get disqualified Web put his mask back on. Thrash had yet to put the mask back on, attempted to gain the advantage but Web had his number. He finished Thrash off with the Shining Wizard. A brief scuffle ensued between the Thrash brothers. We await to see if the dispute in the family will be permanent.
