NWPW HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP
(champion) "Rotten" Ronnie Thrash def. Matt Twizted to retain the NWPW Heavyweight Championship
Ronnie Thrash stated in a video promo that if he lost his championship belt at Tidal Wave, he would leave New Wave forever. After convincingly defeating Matt Twizted the New Wave fans assumed that they would be seeing a lot more of Thrash in New Wave Pro Wrestling.
Sindarin def. Johnny Paradise
In the first two meetings between these two men, Johnny Paradise had his hand raised in both encounters. Sindarin not one for calling it quits, when asked if he would like another encounter with Paradise, jumped at the opportunity. This time however, Sindarin was the one standing tall in the end. He took the legs out of the bigger Paradise and won with an ankle lock.
NWPW TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP
De La Wu (Riki De La Paz & Jalen Wu) def. (champions) El Cartel (Diamond Azul & Angel Santos) to become the new Tag Team Champions
This was the first time Paz and Wu have teamed up in New Wave, and they wasted no time in making an impact in New Wave. De La Wu were the underdogs going into this match, but they quickly evened the odds and had answers to El Cartel's offense. In the end Diamond Azul took the fall for the team, ending their 10 month reign as tag team champions. De La Wu will have their work cut out for them as many teams will be entering New Wave looking for gold.
BEST OF 5 SERIES - MATCH 5 - FALLS COUNT ANYWHERE STREET FIGHT
Chris Kadillak def. "The Rock & Roll Rebel Soul" Johnny Yuma ending the Best of 5 Series 3 wins to 2
Their first match against each other before the best of 5 series was last year at Tidal Wave 3. Who knew that this feud would end in this fashion. What started in a game of one-upmanship turned into a bitter and brutal match. They pulled out numerous weapons but in the end Chris Kadillak was victorious after hitting a huge frog splash. Afterwards, Kadillak extended his hand to Yuma. Begrudgingly Yuma accepted his hand.
Aerial Star & "The Professional" Scott Lost def. SoCal Crazy & "The Rock Superstar" Kaos
The most surprising part of this match was the cohesiveness of SoCal Crazy & Kaos. These two hated each other in the beginning stages of New Wave. Their feud never came to an end as a knee injury took the NWPW Heavyweight Championship off of Kaos. SoCal Crazy always had that in the back of his mind. He never beat Kaos for the title. Throughout the match Lost and Aerial Star started to become more of a team as well. One miscue by SoCal, where he accidentally hit Kaos with a top rope spinning heel kick, turned Kaos into an enraged animal. He gave SoCal a vicious sit down powerbomb and that was the beginning of the end as Lost and Aerial Star took the victory. We were told that they were so satisfied in their victory that this team wasn't just a one hit wonder.
Topgun Talwar (w/ "Naughty" Bobby Ramos) def. Joey Ryan (w/ Mr. Excitement)
There are no words that can do this match justice. These two put on a clinic that had numerous chants of "this is awesome." There was even a first in New Wave, there was a vicious bout of....musical chairs. Mr. Excitement turned on Joey Ryan and joined Topgun's & Ramos' "Nude World Order" wearing very short cut off jean shorts. Even the referee Chris Massie got into it wearing short shorts. In the end Topgun won as he huracanranaed Joey Ryan off the middle rope.
LADDER MATCH FOR THE FIRST RAPID DIVISION CHAMPIONSHIP
Brandon Parker def. Ric Ellis, Peter Avalon, Famous B, Todd Chandler, & X-Torm to become the first Rapid Division Champion
In what was supposed to be only a 5-way match. Todd Chandler interrupted the match and voluntarily entered himself in the match. Chandler was impressive until Famous B put Todd Chandler through a table with a Sunset Flip Powerbumb off a ladder. Brandon Parker took out Peter Avalon by performing a double stomp off a ladder while Avalon was laying on the other ladder. Parker and Ellis were the last two standing, but Parker was able to knock Ellis off the other end of the ladder and pulling down the Rapid Division title.
30-MAN BATTLE ROYAL FOR THE #! CONTENDERSHIP FOR THE NWPW HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP
"Bruisin" Bobby Thrash last eliminated The Amazing Web to become the #1 Contender
The final 4 competitors were Aerial Star, Bobby Thrash, SoCal Crazy, & The Amazing Web. After Aerial Star was eliminated, Bobby Thrash was on the run. He left the ring under the bottom rope so he wasn't eliminated. SoCal or Web didn't see this as once Web eliminated SoCal he thought he was the #1 Contender. Thrash snuck back in the ring and eliminated Web winning the Battle Royal. Ronnie Thrash came out to celebrate the victory with his brother. What he didn't know was Bobby Thrash was about to cash in his title show. While parading around the ring, Bobby Thrash hit Ronnie with his "Inside Job" (thumb to throat) maneuver.
NWPW HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP
"Bruisin" Bobby Thrash def. (champion) "Rotten" Ronnie Thrash to become the new NWPW Heavyweight Champion
Ronnie Thrash was not about to go down to the "Inside Job" by his brother. He put up a fight, but eventually fell to a top rope huracanrana by his brother Bobby.
Afterwards, Ronnie Thrash realized his time in New Wave was over since he lost his title. He thanked the many fans in attendance, and the wrestlers in the back. As a sign of solidarity, the locker room emptied out and applauded the leaving Thrash. On behalf of everyone at New Wave, thank you Ronnie Thrash for all you have done in New Wave as a champion and face of our company.
