SHOCK AND AWE RESULTS
Johnny Yuma defeated Aerial Star in the opening contest. Unbeknownst to either men, the winner is granted a Rapid Division Title opportunity. So on October 9th, Johnny Yuma gets his first shot at Brandon Parker.
Tommy Wilson defeated the NWPW Heavyweight Champion "Bruisin" Bobby Thrash via disqualification. Tommy had the match won and Bobby Thrash used what strength he had left to get himself disqualified. This isn't the last time we will see Tommy Wilson in New Wave. He showed he deserved to be in the championship picture with this match.
After being able to rest for a few minutes, Bobby Thrash got on the mic and began to gloat how he retained his title against Tommy Wilson. Assuming no one is able to defeat him, he laid out an open challenge to anyone in the locker room. As Bobby Thrash thought no one would answer his challenge, a returing Locura came running from the back. After the bell rang, it was only a matter of seconds before Locura had Thrash on his back and scored the 1-2-3 becoming the new NWPW Heavyweight Champion.
Next was a return match from Tidal Wave 4. It pitted the new Tag Team Champions De La Wu against the former champions El Cartel. Throughout the match it looked like El Cartel had it all but wrapped up, when all of a sudden they weren't on the same page anymore. After being defeated by De La Wu once again, El Cartel got into a shoving match with each other. Something is happening between Diamond Azul and Angel Santos. This could be the last time we see them in action together.
The students from the NWPW School were ready to show their stuff in the Student Battle Royal. There was one surprise that wasn't told to them though. Added last minute was Aerial Star. The winner of this battle royal would receive a guaranteed title shot at any championship of the winners choosing. It came down to Ryan Kidd and Aerial Star as the last two. After a quick back and forth exchange Ryan Kidd came out victorious. Before being able to announce what title he was going to challenge for, Aerial Star viciously attacked him and left the ring.
Not willing to back down from another challenge. Brandon Parker successfully defended his Rapid Division Title against SoCal Crazy, Chris Kadillak, and Peter Avalon. After the match it seems like there is some tension between SoCal Crazy & Chris Kadillak. We'll see what happens between these two from here.
Before all the men in the previous match could exit the ring, Bobby Thrash came rushing out. He grabbed the mic and demanded that his rematch happens immediately. He wasn't going to wait for the next event, he wanted it now. Locura came out and agreed to the match. We saw a much more physical Locura in this match, than we've ever seen before. Bobby Thrash when to hit the "inside job" maneuver on Locura. Instead Locura ducked and Thrash hit his hand ont he ring post. Afterwards, Locura kept on attacking Thrash's hand eventually making him tap out. After the match Locura grabbed a chair and beat on Bobby Thrash's hand some more. After all the torment Bobby Thrash put Locura through last year, could Locura finally have snapped?
